Cardinals Sign Former Falcons CB Robert Alford To Three-Year, $22.5M Deal

Update:

The Arizona Cardinals have already announced the signing of CB Robert Alford to a three-year contract.

  • Ian Rapoport adds that Alford’s contract is a three-year, $22.5 million deal worth up to $24 million and includes $13.5 million guaranteed.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals are expected to sign former Falcons CB Robert Alford to a contract.

Alford was free to sign with a team before the start of free agency because he was released by the Falcons.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2020 compensatory picks, given that he was a street free agent.

Alford, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013. He just finished the second year of a four-year, $38 million dollar contract that included $21 million guaranteed when the Falcons released him a few days ago.

In 2018, Alford appeared in 15 games for the Falcons and recorded 50 total tackles, no interceptions, and 11 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 105 overall cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
