The Arizona Cardinals placed RB Kerwynn Williams on waivers Tuesday.
The Cardinals wound up reinstating OT Bobby Massie after his suspension passed, so they needed a roster spot to add him to their active roster.
This comes just a few days after the team promoted him to their active roster and waived TE Joseph Fauria.
Williams, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Colts back in 2013. He spent around six months in Indianapolis before he was waived and later signed to the Chargers’ practice squad.
He’s been with the Cardinals since the start of the 2014 season, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get added to their practice squad in the coming days.
This season, Williams has one carry for three yards and no touchdowns.
