Cardinals Cut Four Players

The Arizona Cardinals placed C Valerian Ume-Ezeoke, CB Kevin White, CB Joel Wilkinson and S Tyrequek Zimmerman on waivers Wednesday, according to Mike Jurecki.

The Cardinals are clearly some room on their 90-man roster for their draft class and undrafted signings.

Zimmerman, 23, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in New Orleans before he was cut loose after last year’s draft.

The Seahawks later signed him to a contract, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts. He later caught on with the Browns midseason before signing a future/reserve contract with the Cardinals in January.

Wilkinson, 24, retired from the Australian Rules game play to pursue an NFL career. He is the second AFL player to sign with an NFL team after 49ers signed running back Jarryd Hayne last year.
