Cardinals Will Have To Clear Cap Space Soon If They Plan On Signing Manning

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio writes that the Arizona Cardinals are currently sittingĀ $16.4 million over the cap total ($120.6 million) which was recently released by the NFL.

Florio notes that the team decided to only carry overĀ $2 million from their previous despite the fact that they could have added up toĀ $7.04 million.

There have been several reports that the Cardinals will release Levi Brown in the coming days, and possibly by tomorrow but if Manning tells them that he’s ready to sign a contract, then Kevin Kolb will be released immediately. Either way, Arizona will have to figure this out in the next few days.
