Cardinals Worked Out 8 Players Including ILBs Nate Irving & Joplo Bartu

The Arizona Cardinals brought in eight players for workouts on Tuesday including inside linebackers Joplo Bartu, James-Michael Johnson and Nate Irving, according to Adam Caplan.

Of this group, Brewer was signed to a contract.

Irving, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with the Broncos before signing a three-year deal with the Colts as an unrestricted free agent last year.

Unfortunately for Irving, he was cut loose coming out of the preseason as the Colts trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2015, Irvin appeared in eight games for the Colts and recorded 14 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.

Bartu, 25, signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Texas State back in May. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and spent a few months with the team before he was placed on waivers in November of last year.

The Jaguars signed him to a contract towards the end of last season before waiving him during roster cuts. The Lions worked out Bartu last week, but did not sign him to a contract.

In 2015, Bartu has appeared in nine games and recorded 12 tackles for the Falcons and Jaguars.
