Carson Palmer Is “Absolutely” The Raiders Starting QB Next Season

New Raiders head coach Dennis Allen joined NBCSportsTalk and confirmed that Carson Palmer will “absolutely” be the teams’ starting quarterback next season.

Installing a new general manager and coaching staff usually leads to big changes within the organization but considering what the Raiders gave up to get Palmer, it would make sense for them to at least try to make it work next season. Also working against them is the fact that they will not have a pick in upcoming draft until the fifth-round so getting an adequate replacement is very unlikely. Oakland has plenty of other areas to address during free agency so signing a quarterback wouldn’t be the most effective use of the teams resources.

Still, Palmer will have next season to show that he worth the contract that he received upon arriving in the middle of the season.

  1. i really dont argee with this judgement i rather have jason campell he looked really smooth with the raiders and if we could pick up santa moss when he is a free agent that would be great with jason campell because he is a former redskin

  2. i agree with you on that i mean campbell looked real good in the beginning but palmer almost took us to the playoffs it will be explosive in 2012

  3. I don’t see why everybody in the NFL world is viewing the “Carson Palmer Experiment” such a failure..the guy almost took the team to the playoffs after not playing or even practicing half the season. He was thrown in after 3 days of practice, and was starting to look better at the end of the year. Plus with the running game they have (when healthy) a QB the caliber of Palmer is an easy pick for starter..Im excited to see what the Raiders can do with an offseason of Carson!
