Carson Wentz Not Expected To Play In Week 15, May Not Return This Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Eagles QB Carson Wentz, who dealing with a back issue, is not expected to play in Week 15.

According to Rapoport, it’s possible Wentz may not return at all this season, depending on the outcome of Sunday’s game.

The Eagles are reportedly still gathering info on Wentz’s health.

Philadelphia would obviously turn to Nick Foles if Wentz is sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Wentz, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $26.7 million contract that included a $16.7 million signing bonus.

Wentz stands to make base salaries of $2.87 million and $4.08 million over the final two years of the agreement. The Eagles will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Wentz next year.

In 2018, Wentz has appeared in 11 games for the Eagles and completed 69.9 percent of his passes for 3,074 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 93 yards.
