Cedric Benson “Very Motivated” By Lack Of Interest In Him

Packers running back Cedric Benson spent several months this offseason as free agent. Since signing with the Packers, Benson is using the lack of interest he received from other teams as motivation for this upcoming season.

“He’s been motivated,” McCarthy said, via the Associated Press. “He’s taken my seat in the meeting room. He sits next to Aaron. I’ve been bumped back a row. I think that’s a good thing. He’s really into trying to learn this offense because I know I’ve said it a couple times already, he’s trying to learn a different language. He’s an accomplished football player. I’m glad he’s here. He seems very motivated. And I know he’s looking forward to playing Thursday.”

Benson will be very hungry to step back on to the field tonight as he will take on his former team, the Bengals, in his first game this preseason. A motivated Benson should help the Packers already dynamic and explosive offense be more dynamic and explosive.
