It appears that the Miami Dolphins feel that the team is in need of a leadership change at the quarterback position. Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano announced during this afternoon’s press conference that Chad Henne will be benched in favor of Chad Pennington.
“This is not an indictment on Chad Henne, not an indictment on his future,” Sparano said, via Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “At this particular time this is something I feel I need to do.”
Sparano said that Henne was “disappointed” by the decision but was a “professional” about the situation.
It seems as though Henne will have another chance to regain the starting quarterback position but that will have something to do with Pennington’s performance in the coming weeks.
