Chad Ochocinco Restructures His Contract

ESPN ‘s Adam Schefter reports that Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco has restructured his contract to stay in New England.

Schefter mentions that Ochocinco will cut his “base salary from $3 million to $1 million” for the 2012 season.

Ochocinco is coming off a very disappointing season in which he caught only 15 passes for 276 yards and 1 touchdown. There’s still no guarantee that he’ll be on their roster at the start of the season given that they’ve already signed a number of wide receivers during free agency. Chad will at least have a chance to prove that he’s worth a roster spot during training camp.
