A Chance Browns QB Josh McCown Could Return This Weekend

Browns HC Hue Jackson told reporters on Monday that there is a chance that QB Josh McCown could play in their Week 6 game against the Titans.

Jackson added that McCown will have the chance to return to practice this week and quarterbacks Cody Kessler and Charlie Whitehurst are both day-to-day.

McCown was expected to miss between 2-4 weeks after he sustained a strain and hairline fracture in his non-throwing shoulder a three weeks ago.

McCown, 37, signed a three-year, $14 million contract that includes $6.25 million guaranteed with the Browns back in March of last year. He stands to make base salaries of $4.375 million (2016) and $3.625 million (2017) over the duration of the agreement.

In 2016, McCown has thrown for 260 yards while completing 60.6 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding the Browns’ quarterback situation as the news is available.
