Chargers Activate LB Denzel Perryman From Injured Reserve, Cut Two

The Los Angeles Chargers have officially activated LB Denzel Perryman from injured reserve and waived LB Josh Keyes and OT Tyler Marz.

  • The Chargers also signed OL Cole Toner to their practice squad.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, considering that the Chargers designated Perryman as one of their two players to return from injured reserve a few weeks ago.

Perryman, 23 is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $4.776 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Chargers placed Perryman on injured reserve coming out of the preseason with an ankle injury.

In 2016, Perryman appeared in 12 games and recorded 72 tackles, two sacks, an interception and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 43 linebacker out of 86 qualifying players.
