Chargers Claim OL Michael Schofield Off Waivers From Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers have claimed OL Michael Schofield off of waivers from the Broncos on Sunday, according to Nicki Jhabvala.

Schofield, 25, is a former third-round pick out of Michigan by the Broncos in the 2014 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year, $2,777,200 rookie contract and is set to make a base salary of $702,000 this season.

Denver elected to waive him on Saturday as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.

In 2016, Schofield appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 48 guard out of 75 qualifying players.
