Chargers Cut Three Including TE Asante Cleveland

The San Diego Chargers officially waived TE Asante Cleveland, LB Chris Landrum and DB Steve Williams on Sunday.

Cleveland, 24, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (FL) back in May of last year. He spent a good majority of last year on the team’s practice squad.

The Patriots traded for him in August, but he was unfortunately unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. New England later signed him to their practice squad before cutting him loose midseason.

The Chargers wound up claiming him off of waivers.

In 2015, Cleveland appeared in four games and recorded a single reception for one yard receiving and no touchdowns for the Patriots.
