Chargers DE Joey Bosa Expected To Make Season Debut In Week 9

According to Adam Schefter, Chargers DE Joey Bosa (foot) is expected to make his season debut in Week 9 against the Seahawks.

The belief regarding Bosa is that he finally be able to return from his foot injury after the Chargers’ bye, barring any setbacks.

Schefter says that Bosa has been running and looking as if he is regaining his form the past two weeks.

A few weeks ago, Bosa had the cast removed from his foot and is now in a protective boot. However, Bosa is still dealing with instability in the tendon of his bruised left foot.

Bosa is specifically dealing with a bruised bone in his left foot that was expected to keep him out of the lineup for the next few weeks, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Bosa actually suffered a different foot injury back on Aug. 7, which forced him to miss the entire the preseason, but unfortunately sustained a different injury to the same foot a few weeks ago.

Bosa, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $25.8 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Chargers have a fifth-year to pick up regarding Bosa next year.

In 2017, Bosa appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and recorded 70 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding Bosa as the news is available.
