Chargers DE Joey Bosa was named the Associated Press 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year Saturday night at the NFL Honors show.
Bosa, 21, was taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers. He’ll be entering the second year of his four-year, $25.8 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Bosa appeared in 12 games for the Chargers and recorded 41 tackles and 10.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 5 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
