Chargers Designate LB Denzel Perryman To Return From IR

The Los Angeles Chargers officially designated LB Denzel Perryman as one of their two players to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for the Chargers to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.

The Chargers placed Perryman on injured reserve coming out of the preseason with an ankle injury.

Perryman, 23 is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $4.776 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Perryman appeared in 12 games and recorded 72 tackles, two sacks, an interception and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 43 linebacker out of 86 qualifying players.
