Chargers G Forrest Lamp Undergoes Second Procedure On Knee

Chargers HC Anthony Lynn said that G Forrest Lamp underwent a “clean up” procedure on his knee, marking his second surgery after suffering a torn ACL back in August.

“It was nothing major,” Lynn said, via Marc Sessler of NFL.com. “He’s progressing along just fine.

Back in February, Lamp said that he is recovering well from his injury, so there does not seem to be a lot of concern at this point.

I’m feeling really good so far,” Lamp said. “I’m five months post-op, and coming along really good. The training staff and I have been working Monday through Friday, and we’ve been starting to run and do things like that. Like [General Manager Tom [Telesco] said, I should be back for camp and ready to go.”

Lamp, 23, was selected with the No. 38 overall pick by the Chargers in the 2017 NFL Draft. He is entering the second year of a four-year contract worth $6,666,906, which includes a signing bonus of $2,988,660.

He sustained a torn ACL during training camp last year and was placed on the season-ending injured reserve. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four-year college career at Western Kentucky, Lamp started 51 games for the Hilltoppers.
