Chargers ILB Manti Te’o Will Miss “Extensive Time” With Foot Fracture

Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune San Diego reports that Chargers second-year ILB Manti Te’o  will miss “extensive time” with a foot fracture he suffered during Sunday’s win over the Bills.

  • Gehlken adds that Te’o is not expected to be placed on injured reserve, but he will miss multiple weeks.

Te’o, 23, is currently the Chargers leading tackler throw three games, so they’ll have to figure out a way to mitigate his loss in the coming weeks. As of now, Reggie Walker and Kavell Conner are listed as the team’s backup inside linebackers.

This isn’t the first time he’s dealt with foot injuries as he wound up missing the first three games of the 2013 season due to a right foot injury that later required offseason surgery.
