Chargers Not Activating TE Hunter Henry From PUP For Wildcard Game

Rapoport adds that the Chargers are taking a “wait and see” approach from here.

Los Angeles officially activated the 21-day practice window for Henry a few weeks ago, so his return window is getting smaller. Reports have said for months now that there was still a chance Henry could return this year.

Henry, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6.38 million contract that included $3.98 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.03 million and $1.32 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Henry appeared in 14 games for the Chargers and caught 45 passes for 579 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 3 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Henry’s availability for future playoff games as the news is available.
