Chargers Place C Chris Watt On Season-Ending I.R. & Promote G Craig Watts

The San Diego Chargers announced Monday that they’ve placed OL Chris Watt on season-ending injured reserve and promoted G Craig Watts to their active roster.

  • Watt’s 2015 season ends due to a shoulder injury.

San Diego is obviously bolstering their offensive line depth ahead of their matchup with the Bears tonight.

Watt, 25, is in the second year of his four-year, $2,816,640 rookie contract that included a $544,140 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $510,000 (2015), $600,000 (2016), and $690,000 (2017) over the remainder of the contract.

This season, Watt appeared in five games and played a total of 184 snaps for the Chargers. However, Pro Football Focus has him rated poorly in both pass- and run-blocking.
