Chargers Place CB Jason Verrett On Injured Reserve, Sign NT Ryan Carrethers To PS

The San Diego Chargers announced that they’ve officially placed CB Jason Verrett on injured reserve and signed NT Ryan Carrethers to their practice squad.

  • The Chargers also promoted CB Trevor Williams to their active roster.

The Chargers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Kevin Norwood
  2. LB Deon King
  3. OT Brett Boyko
  4. S Adrian McDonald
  5. WR Dom Williams
  6. NT Ryan Carrethers
  7. TE Jake McGee
  8. OLB Chris Landrum
  9. WR Isaiah Burse
  10. RB Andre Williams

Tests showed that Verrett suffered a partially torn ACL last weekend, so this was the expectation all along.

Verrett, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2014. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $7.889 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1,137,182 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Verrett appeared in four games and recorded 13 tackles, one interception and three pass defenses for the Chargers.
