Chargers Place CB Jason Verrett, WR Mike Williams & DB Darrell Stuckey On PUP List

The Los Angeles Chargers officially placed DB Darrell Stuckey, CB Jason Verrett, and WR Mike Williams on the PUP list.

The Chargers can activate them at any time from the list once they’re healthy and ready to practice.

Verrett, 25, was taken with the No. 25 overall pick back in 2014 by the Chargers. He was in the final year of his four-year, $7.889 million contract and set to make a base salary of $860,000 for the 2017 season when the Chargers picked up his fifth-year option a few months ago.

The fifth-year option will run the Chargers $8,526,000 million for the 2018 season but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.

In 2016, Verrett was limited to appearing in just four games and recorded 13 tackles, one interception and three pass defenses for the Chargers. His year ended after he suffered a torn left ACL and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Williams, 22, was selected with the No. 7 overall pick by the Chargers a few months ago. According to OverTheCap.com, Williams will receive a four-year contract worth $19,750,056, which includes a signing bonus of $12,503,676. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

During his college career at Clemson, Williams caught 177 passes for 2,727 yards receiving (15.4 YPR) and 21 touchdowns over the course of 38 games.
