Chargers Place G Johnnie Troutman On I.R. & Cut TE Kyle Miller

The San Diego Chargers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed G Johnnie Troutman on the season-ending injured reserve and waived TE Kyle Miller.

The Chargers didn’t announce any corresponding signings, but it seems likely that they’ll be adding some players in the coming days.

Troutman, 27, is in the final year of his four-year, $2.3 million rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months. He wound up being placed on injured reserve towards the end of last season with a knee injury.

Miller, 27, signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Mount Union back in 2007. He has since placed for the Colts and Dolphins before signing on with the Falcons in September of last year.

Atlanta later signed him to a future/reserve contract in December before waiving him a few months ago. San Diego wound up claiming him off of waivers a few weeks ago.

Miller has appeared in just one NFL game during the 2012 season when he was playing for the Dolphins. He has yet to record a single statistic.
