Chargers Place LB Tyler Marcordes On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The San Diego Chargers officially placed LB Tyler Marcordes on injured reserve after he passed through waivers without being claimed.

The Chargers waived Marcordes with an injury designation on Thursday to make room for C Bruce Johnson, who was signed to a contract.

Marcordes, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Georgia Tech back in May before signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers.

During his four-year college career, Marcordes recorded 102 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a recovery, two interceptions and a pass defense.
