Chargers Place TE Hunter Henry On IR With Kidney Laceration, Promote G Brett Boyko

The Los Angeles Chargers officially placed TE Hunter Henry on injured reserve with a lacerated kidney on Tuesday and promoted G Brett Boyko to their active roster.

Henry, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $6.38 million contract that included $3.98 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.03 million and $1.32 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Henry has appeared in 14 games for the Chargers and caught 45 passes for 579 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.
