Chargers Planning To Use A Low-Round Tender On WR Danario Alexander?

Adam Caplan reports that the Chargers are planning to use a low-round restricted tender on WR Danario Alexander.

If true, this could be a calculated risk on their part as low-round tenders prevent them from receiving compensation if the player signs with another team and they elect to not match the contract.

Alexander, 24, is coming off of a very solid season for the Chargers and would have found a decent interest on the open market if he weren’t a restricted free agent. One speculative idea could be the Browns given that Alexander excelled in Norv Turner’s offense last season and they could still use some more help at wide receiver.

We’ll have to see what the Chargers elect to do in regards to Alexander’s tender in the next few days.
