Chargers Promote DL Damion Square To Active Roster

Ian Rapaport of NFL Media reports that the Chargers have promoted DL Damion Square to their active roster.

  • According to Rapoport, Square actually received the phone call while his baby girl was being born yesterday.

Square, 26, originally signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles last year as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason that season, but he was later claimed by the Chiefs.

After a few months in Kansas City, Square was once again waived and later claimed by the Chargers. San Diego wound up placing him on their practice squad after roster cuts.

Square hasn’t appeared in game since the 2013 season when he record four tackles and one pass defense over the course of 1o games.
