Chargers Promote WR Geremy Davis, Waive CB Jeff Richards

The San Diego Chargers announced Monday that they have promoted WR Geremy Davis to their active roster and waived CB Jeff Richards.

Davis, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was later cut loose at the start of the 2016 season.

The Giants added him to their practice squad a few months into the season before losing him to the Chargers and he finished out the year in San Diego. The Chargers brought Davis back on a one-year, exclusive rights contract this past March before cutting him loose coming out of the preseason.

Los Angeles officially re-signed him to their practice squad last week.

In 2016, Davis appeared in three games but did not catch a single pass for the Chargers.
