Chargers Re-sign S Eric Weddle

Kevin Acee tweets that the San Diego Chargers have re-signed S Eric Weddle to a record breaking deal for a safety.

Weddle was the best available option at safety on the open market hands down. The Chargers knew that their defense was in need of improvement and putting together a secondary that consists of Weddle, Bob Sanders, Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer should do a lot to shore up that side of the ball.

San Diego still needs to find a better pass rush but that will be difficult in this years market.
