Chargers Re-Signing RB Branden Oliver

The Los Angeles Chargers announced that they’ve re-signed RB Branden Oliver to a new contract on Thursday.

Oliver is working his way back from a season-ending Achilles injury he suffered during the preseason last year that led to him being placed on injured reserve.

Oliver, 25, originally signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Buffalo back in 2014. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first three years in the NFL.

The Chargers declined to tender Oliver a restricted offer, which is why he had been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent in recent weeks.

In 2015, Oliver appeared in eight games for the Chargers and ran for 108 yards on 31 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 112 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
