According to Eric D. Williams, the Chargers have signed seventh-round RB Justin Jackson to their practice squad after he passed through waivers unclaimed on Tuesday.
The Chargers’ practice squad now consists of:
- DE Patrick Afriyie
- WR Dylan Cantrell
- S A.J. Hendy
- LB D’Juan Hines
- WR Andre Patton
- DL Steven Richardson
- T Trent Scott
- TEÂ Thomas Duarte
- QB Cardale Jones
- RB Justin Jackson
Los Angeles waived Jackson on Monday to make room for veteran TEÂ Antonio Gates.
Jackson, 23, is a seventh-round pick by the Chargers out of Northwestern in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2,529,070 rookie contract and was set to earn a base salary of $480,000 prior to being waived.
During his four-year college career, Jackson recorded 1,142 rushing attempts for 5,440 yards (4.8 YPC) and 41 touchdowns to go along with 122 receptions for 858 yards receiving (7.0 YPC) and one touchdown.
