Chargers Sign DBs Brandian Ross & Cassius Vaughn

The San Diego Chargers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed defensive backs Brandian Ross and Cassius Vaughn to contracts.

Ross, 25, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State back in 2011. Since then, Ross has played for the Raiders and Dolphins before later returning to Oakland after he was claimed off of waivers from Miami.

The Raiders wound up re-signing to a restricted deal worth $1.542 million back in April, but he was later released from their injured reserve list.

In 2014, Ross appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and recorded 55 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.

Vaughn, 28, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2010. He spent two years in Denver before later being traded to the Colts in return for Chris Gronkowski.

Vaughn played two seasons for the Colts before later joining the Lions as an unrestricted free agent in April of last year. The Ravens wound up signing him to a contract shortly after this year’s draft, but he’s been on and off of their active roster ever since.

This season, Vaughn has been active for one game, but has yet to record a single statistic.
