Chargers Sign DT Bruce Gaston & CB Carrington Byndom, Cut Two

The San Diego Chargers announced Sunday that they’ve signed DT Bruce Gaston and CB Carrington Byndom and placed DE Carlos Wray and CB Terrell Chestnut on waivers with injury designations.

Gaston, 24, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2014. Since then, he’s had brief stints with the Patriots and Dolphins before the Packers signed him to their active roster towards the end of the 2014 season.

Green Bay wound up waiving Gaston during the season before later adding him to their practice squad. Gaston later caught on with the Bears last October, but they elected to cut him loose in May.

The Vikings signed Gaston to a contract a few months ago, but cut him loose just a couple weeks later.

In 2015, Gaston appeared in nine games and recorded 12 tackles and a sack.

Byndom, 24, originally signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in 2014. He lasted just over a year with the team before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season.

After a brief stint with the Chargers, Byndom signed on to the Cardinals’ practice squad before returning on a future/reserve contract after the season. Arizona waived him a few weeks ago.

In 2014, Byndom appeared in three games and recorded a single tackle for the Panthers.
