Chargers Sign DT Doug Worthington, Waive/Injured DE Damik Scafe

The San Diego Chargers announced the signing of DT Doug Worthington and the release of DE Damik Scafe on Monday.

Worthington, 27, was waived by the Redskins back in June of last year after he suffered a biceps injury. However, Washington later signed him to a one-year contract worth $495,000 in February.

The Redskins once again parted ways with Worthington last week.

Worthington didn’t play in a game this past season, but he did appear in six games in 2012. According to Pro Football Focus, Worthington played just 39 snaps in 2012 totaling three tackles.
