Chargers Sign First-Round RB Melvin Gordon To A Four-Year Deal

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that the Chargers have signed first-round pick RBĀ Melvin Gordon to a four-year contract.

San Diego has now locked up their entire five-man 2015 draft class.

Gordon landed in a pretty good situation in San Diego, as they’ve clearly made an attempt to upgrade their offensive line recent years. On top of that, he could end up being leaned on quite heavily in his first year in the NFL now that Ryan Matthews departed in free agency.

According toĀ OverTheCap.com, Gordon is projected to receive a four-year contract worth $10,669,758 and includes a signing bonus of $6,019,824.Ā The contract obviously includes a fifth-year option that can be picked up by the Chargers.

During his four-year college career, Gordon ran for 4,915 yards on 631 carries (7.8 YPC) to go along with 22 receptions for 228 yards receiving and 49 total touchdowns for the Badgers.
