The San Diego Chargers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed S Adrian Phillips to their practice squad and released WR Donatella Luckett from the unit to make room for him.
On Monday, San Diego waived Phillips to clear a roster spot for TE Antonio Gates, who was reinstated to the team’s active roster.
Phillips, 23, signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May of last year. He’s been on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad since then, so it’s not a surprise to see him back on their taxi squad.
This season, Phillips has appeared in three games for the Chargers and recorded six tackles.
