Chargers Sign OT Joe Barksdale To A One-Year Deal

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that the Chargers have agreed to terms with OT Joe Barksdale.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Barksdale receives a one-year contract with a minimum bases salary, a $350,000 signing bonus, and $1 million available in incentives.

Barksdale was, arguably, the best offensive tackle still available on the open market. He visited with San Diego on Monday, so it appears as though the Chargers moved quickly to get a deal in place.

Barksdale previously found interest from the Rams, Titans, and Falcons. Although, Atlanta elected to sign Tyler Polumbus to a contract last week and the Rams added a number of offensive linemen in this year’s draft.

Barksdale, 27, appeared in all 16 games for the Rams in 2014 and played a total of 1031 snaps. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.

We had Barksdale listed as the No. 76 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
