Chargers Signing QB Bryn Renner

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Chargers are signing QB Bryn Renner to a contract on Wednesday after working out some quarterbacks.

San Diego has three quarterbacks already on their roster including Philip Rivers, Kellen Clemens and Brad Sorensen, so it’s likely that Renner will have to compete for a roster spot this summer with Sorensen.

Renner, 26, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in May of last year. However, he lasted just a few month in Denver before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.

The Ravens later signed him to a future/reserve contract at the end of last season, but he was on and off of their practice squad during the 2015 season before signing on to the Titans’ practice squad in late December.

Renner has yet to appear in an NFL game.
