Barner, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2013. He spent just over a year in Carolina before he was traded tot he Eagles in return for a conditional seventh-round pick that did not meet the qualifications.
The Eagles waived him with an injury settlement a the start of the 2014 season and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. Philadelphia didn’t tender him a restricted offer, which is why he was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Barner appeared in 13 games for the Eagles and rushed for 129 yardss on 27 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 42 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
