Chargers Signing WR Kevin Norwood & LB Deon King To Practice Squad

Aaron Wilson reports that the Chargers are signing WR Kevin Norwood to their practice squad.

  • The San Diego Chargers announced that they also signed LB Deon King to their practice squad.

The Chargers’ practice squad currently consists of the following players:

  1. WR Kevin Norwood
  2. LB Deon King
  3. OT Brett Boyko
  4. S Adrian McDonald
  5. WR Dom Williams
  6. CB Trevor Williams
  7. TE Jake McGee
  8. OLB Chris Landrum
  9. WR Isaiah Burse
  10. RB Andre Williams

Norwood, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2014. He was traded to the Panthers at the start of last season for a 2017 conditional seventh-round pick after Carolina lost Kelvin Benjamin for the season, due to a torn ACL.

The Panthers placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and waived him four days ago.

Norwood was in the third year of his four-year, $2,640,108 rookie contract and was set to make base salaries of $600,000, and $690,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2015, Norwood was active for just one game but did not catch a single pass.

King, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out oof Norfolk State back in May. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad a day later.

Dallas elected to him loose soon after adding him to their practice squad.

During his college career, King recorded 372 tackles, 52.5 tackles for a loss, 22 sacks, four forced fumbles, five recoveries and six pass defenses
