Chargers To Meet With RB Ryan Mathews’ Agent This Week

Chargers GM Tom Telesco told reporters on Wednesday that he plans to meet with agent for free agent RB Ryan Mathews at the Combine this week, per Michael Gehlken.

Mathews, 27, will be an intriguing free agent to watch in the coming months, as he’s displayed some ability in the NFL, but has dealt with numerous injuries.

It seems like he could be a good value for a team looking to some running back depth at a reasonable cost.

Mathews played out his four-year, $18.92 million rookie contract with the Chargers, which included $4,231,000 guaranteed.

In 2014, Mathews was limited to appearing in just six games due to injury. He ran for 330 yards on 74 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 69 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.

We have him listed as the No. 60 player in our Top 75 Free Agents list.
