Chargers To Sign CB Richard Crawford

Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune reports that the Chargers have agreed to terms with CB Richard Crawford.

This comes just minutes after reports surfaced that San Diego was cutting veteran CB Richard Marshall, so it appears as though Crawford will take his place on their 53-man roster.

Crawford, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins back in 2012. He was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason and wound up on Washington’s practice squad before he was later waived a few weeks ago.

Crawford hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since his rookie season when he recorded 18 tackles, one interception, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses over the course of 10 games.

Last year, Crawford sat out the entire season after he sustained a torn ACL during the team’s third preseason game.
