Chargers Veteran DL Brandon Mebane Out For Season With Biceps Tear

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chargers veteran DL Brandon Mebane suffered a torn biceps during Sunday’s game and will miss the remainder of the season.

The Chargers will likely place Mebane on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

The hits just keep coming for the Chargers, as they seemingly lose someone for the season each and every week.

Mebane, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2007. After nine years in Seattle, Mebane signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract that included $5.5 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in March.

He stands to make a base salary $2.5 million for the 2016 season and another $3.5 million in 2017.

In 2016, Mebane appeared in 10 games for the Chargers and recorded 22 tackles, one sack, an interception and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 interior defender out of 119 qualifying players.
