The San Diego Chargers announced that they have waived CB Brandon Jones to make room for the recently signed CB Brandon Flowers.
Jones signed with the Patriots after going undrafted in 2013 out of Rutgers. He was cut before the 2013 season started however, and subsequently spent time on the Giants and Steelers practice squads. San Diego signed Jones in December 2013.
Jones is a big defensive back who supports the run well. His struggles in coverage however will mean he needs to stand out on special teams to make a roster.
