Chargers Waive/Injured DE Chris Landrum, Sign DE Whitney Richardson

The Los Angeles Chargers announced Tuesday that they waived DE Chris Landrum with an injury designation and signed DE Whitney Richardson to a contract.

Should Landrum pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Wednesday.

Landrum, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State back in May of last year. He stands to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the contract.

In 2016, Landrum appeared in 10 games for the Chargers and recorded four tackles and a sack.
