Chargers Worked Out S Stevie Brown & DB Brandian Ross

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Chargers worked out S Stevie Brown and DB Brandian Ross on Wednesday.

Brown, 28, is a former seventh round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After a little over a year in Oakland, Brown had bried stints with the Panthers and Colts before eventually signing on with the Giants in 2012.

Brown wound up testing the open market several months ago and eventually landing with the Texans on a one-year deal, but was unfortunately released at the start of the season. He later returned to the Giants, but was unfortunately among their final roster cuts.

In 2014, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.

Ross, 25, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State back in 2011. Since then, Ross has played for the Raiders and Dolphins before later returning to Oakland after he was claimed off of waivers from Miami.

The Raiders wound up re-signing to a restricted deal worth $1.542 million back in April, but he was later released from their injured reserve list.

In 2014, Ross appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and recorded 55 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.
