Chargers WR Keenan Allen was carted off the field on Sunday with what looked like a right knee injury.

This would be a terrible loss of the Chargers’ defense, as Allen is clearly one of their best offensive weapons.

Allen, 24, was taken in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Chargers. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.81 million rookie contract when the Chargers signed him to a four-year, $45 million extension that included $20 million guaranteed.

In 2015, Allen was limited to appearing in eight games due to a lacerated kidney he suffered midseason. He finished the year catching 67 passes for 725 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding the severity of Allen’s injury as the news is available.
