Chargers WR Malcom Floyd Expected To Play In 2014

Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune San Diego has spoken to team and league sources who mentioned that WR Malcom Floyd is expected to play in 2014, despite suffering a serious neck injury last year.

While there are still some concerns regarding his neck, doctors have told Floyd that he is at no greater risk than anyone else playing football.

“The doc said … I’m at risk just like anybody else,” Floyd said Monday. “There’s not really a worry. As far as going out there and performing, I’m really excited to make plays again. Hopefully, I can do more this year than I ever have. … I’m feeling good. I think I feel like my old self.”

Floyd, 32, would the Chargers another solid receiver to pair with Keenan Allen who is coming off of an extremely impressive rookie season.

Floyd is under contract for another two years with reasonable salaries of  $2.75 million (2014) and $3 million (2015) coming his way.
