Chargers WR Mike Williams Dealing With Bone Bruise, Considered Week-To-Week

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chargers rookie WR Mike Williams is dealing with what has been described as a bone bruise in his knee.

According to Rapoport, Williams is expected to be out this week and he’s considered week-to-week moving forward.

The good news, however, is that this isn’t a season-ending issue for Williams and his ACL does not have any damage.

Williams suffered a disc injury in his back this summer that led to him missing training camp and the first four games of the regular season. Los Angeles opted to not place him on the PUP list, even though he missed a good portion of the season.

Williams, 23, was selected with the No. 7 overall pick by the Chargers in this year’s NFL draft. He a four-year contract worth $19,750,056, which includes a signing bonus of $12,503,676, and he stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

In 2017, Williams has appeared in six games and caught nine passes for 84 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Chargers.

We’ll have more regarding Williams as the news is available.
